Toward a Dream by Bernard Price
The cowgirl works so hard To make make her place out west, No matter what's involved Will always do her best.
She often rides in rodeos Of prizes gets her share, The popularity and fame Makes her known most everywhere.
Her favorite thing's bronc riding That's where her talent lies, No matter how that bronco bucks To stay on board she tries.
But if by chance she's thrown The clowns will play their role, Protecting her from harm Cowgirl's safety is their goal.
For years she keeps on going Toward a dream she's always known, To have a working cattle ranch That she can call her own.
Where she can ride the range And live her chosen life, Facing all that comes along Even storm and strife.
All the chores of ranching Don't faze her that's for sure, Can turn a hand to anything That helps her to endure.
When that blessed day arrives And she's riding through the gate, The feeling that she gets Says, "It was worth the wait." |
