"Hats Off to the Wild Bunch by Sharon K. Hunt Something About a Cowgirl By Bernard Price I’m going to be a cowgirl It’s a dream I’ve always had, Riding o’er the range Tending cattle just like Dad.
Up front on his saddle, He taught me how to ride. Many things I learned As I grew up by his side.
Was always very patient, As he showed me the ropes, In turn I did my best To fulfill his many hopes.
He would liked a son But was glad I came along, ‘Cause every day I showed him I was capable and strong.
Some day I’ll take over My turn to run the place, Dad can then retire And enjoy a slower pace.
He’ll never have to worry Knowing I will be right there, Riding on my favorite horse A hard working pair.
There’s something about a cowgirl She stands out from the crowd, The fact that I will be one Has made me very proud. |
